My Current ATX “Must Visit” List [2022]
I can’t believe it’s already been seven months since we moved to Austin, Texas.
I am still in love with the vibe and weather that this city offers. Current status is that I’m sweating profusely (while needing to bring a sweatshirt everywhere because #airconditioning), but overall, I think Austin is an incredible place.
It’s full of amazing food and people. We have felt at home here since day one.
In fact, we love it so much that Teddy and I just signed a year lease to hang out as Texans in a bigger place for a wee bit longer.
Will we move again?
We absolutely think we’ll move again in the future, and the best part of this experience has been gaining the confidence that we will be just fine when we do.
Last summer, Teddy and I decided to head out on a multi-month road trip (recap is here). During this time, we tested the waters of what it would mean to live really remote work lives and balance our passion to explore.
It was, for lack of a better term, epic. And it created a solid foundation for us to say, “Hey, let’s pack up everything we know and move somewhere SUPER different.”
And that’s what we did. And we’ve never had a single regret.
Statistics prove over and over again that people regret that which they do not do over that which they do do. When we had an inkling to try something out of our element, I knew that we had to seize the opportunity, no matter how much fear was associated with it.
It didn’t take long to create a new normal in a new place, and I cannot emphasize enough how much this change has empowered me and strengthened our relationship. I’m a firm believer that intentionally shifting our environments and behaviors can profoundly impact our confidence.
Where are you feeling a nudge to change things up?
Without further adieu, here is my current “must visit” list for my home city of ATX. These are my opinions based on what I have been to, and I’m sure there’s so much more out there.
